The Clothing Lounge
2017 - 2018
Simple, legible and space to process.
The Clothing Lounge is an online marketplace for the independent
upper-market brands.
COVER DESIGN
The theme for the magazine was the story of the pro transgender fashion brand Tilly and William. My aim for the cover was to draw attention of the reader towards the lack of definitive shapes, which are evident in gender defined clothing, allowing them to grasp and idea of what the brands intentions were with their designs.
LAYOUT DESIGN
Taking layout inspiration from National Geographic magazine, I created a simple, clean and modern editorial design for The Clothing Lounge.
I found that magazines would run on layouts specific towards their intentions for their audiences. For example, National Geographic would space out their images and texts with negative space, allowing their readers space to absorb the information given and the powerful imagery used for the subject. Newspapers use minimal colour to iterate their seriousness towards current issues and people’s interest magazines would congest their articles with colours and shapes to keep their readers locked into their stories.
